About Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus

Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus, the slow-grow succulent also known as Paper Spine Cactus. The cactus has a segmented pinecone-shaped stem that stacks up to 12 inches tall. Many soft paper spines are covered with the succulent plant. The bell-shaped white flowers are beautiful but rare.

How to care for Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus

Sun/Location: Paper Spine Cactus needs lots of sunlight; it is ideal to grow outdoors in hot and dry areas. As a soft succulent, Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus can't tolerate frost; keep in mind to take it indoors in cold winters.

Soil/Pot: The Tephrocactus succulent can live in a well-drained cactus soil mix. A planter pot that contains at least one drainage hole is suitable for cacti. Make succulent soil for your cactus plants by adding perlite, grit, and sand.

Watering: The low-maintenance succulent care tip is just to remember less water. The best way of watering succulents is the 'soak and dry' method. Over-watering can be avoided by watering when the soil is completely dry.
