The leather was slotted between a slit carved into the handle, then secured with a couple of iron nails, which look to have been supplemented by a couple more at some point. Perfect patina all over, the leather soft and rich and the handle smooth from much handling--a total joy to hold, and to swat with! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e13\" l x 5 3\/4\" w x 1\/2\" d and in very good condition. Minor dryness\/cracking along the very top edge of the leather, no matter.
